Union Education Minister, Dharmendra Pradhan, launched a 100-day reading campaign titled 'Padhe Bharat'. The launch of the campaign is in alignment with the National Education Policy 2020 that lays emphasis on the promotion of joyful reading culture for children by ensuring the availability of age-appropriate reading books for children in the local/mother tongue/regional/tribal language.
During the launch, the education minister underlined the importance of reading and how it helps in the development of the child. He also said that if the habit of reading is inculcated at an early stage, it helps in brain development and enhances imagination.
